Officials of the Korean Studies Promotion Service (KSPS) participated in the 4th Central Asia Korean Studies Symposium held at the Oriental Studies campus of Kazakh Ablai khan University of International Relations and World Languages on June 24, under the theme of . The symposium was organized to study the present situation and problems of Central Asia hallyu in terms of Korean studies and to find ways by which hallyu and Korean studies can jointly grow. After the symposium, there was an overseas business presentation organized by the KSPS. At the presentation, Chung Soon-woo, director of KSPS, said that there were many young researchers in Central Asia who wanted to study Korea and as a consequence, Korean studies would greatly develop. Efforts will be made to organize further Korean studies symposiums in Central Asia and to cooperate with neighboring countries in the Middle East and East Europe through joint conference activities among Korean studies professors, which would result in synergy effects of research, according to Chung.
