한국학진흥사업단의 이강한 단장입니다.

 

코로나가 전 세계를 강타한 가운데 시작된 2021년이, 여전히 바이러스가 맹위를 떨치는 속에 속절없이 저물어 가고 있습니다.

 

이제 세상은 코로나와 함께 살아갈 길을 모색하고 있고, 학계 또한 마찬가지입니다. 많은 연구자들이 유례 없는 상황에 고통 받았고 지금도 여러 곤경에 직면해 있지만, 우리 모두 합심하여 이런 상황을 오히려 전화위복의 계기로 만들어야 할 것입니다.

 

한국학진흥사업단에도 2021년은 큰 도전이자 동시에 변화를 모색하게 하는 전기였습니다. 여러 어려움이 닥치는 와중에도 한국의 모든 것을 전 세계에 알리는 데 크게 기여할 K학술확산연구소사업이 출범했고, 다른 여러 사업들 역시 한국과 세계의 연결에 기여할 수 있도록 혁신되었습니다.

 

한국학진흥사업단은 2022년에도 이러한 노력을 계속함으로써 학계를 지원하는 데 만전을 기하도록 하겠습니다. 더러 미흡한 부분들이 보여도, 모쪼록 정부와 학계, 시민대중사회의 많은 질정과 성원을 부탁드립니다.

 

개인적으로는 2년간 한국학진흥사업에 종사할 수 있었던 것을 큰 영광으로 생각합니다. 부디 모든 분들의 연말연시가 행복하고, 여러분들의 가정에 새해 만복이 깃들기를 기원합니다.

Hello, this is Lee Kang Hahn from KSPS.

 

The year 2021, which started amidst the Corona pandemic, is ending while the virus is still dominating the entire planet.

 

The world is now trying to find ways to actually live with this foe, and so should the academic communities I believe. Scholars and researchers all around the globe have endured this crisis well, and in the future we should all see to it that our efforts have not been in vain.

 

The year was a challenge for KSPS as well, but on behalf of KSPS, I think we did our best. Under the most difficult circumstances we managed to launch the Fostering a New Wave of K-Academics program, which will produce thousands of hours of quality video contents that would spread all things Korean throughout the world, and other KSPS programs too were all renovated to increase interactivity between Korean and foreign academic circles.

 

KSPS will continue such efforts in the year 2022, and hopefully they would properly address the needs of Korean studies and education all around the world. Any suggestions or advice from our colleagues are always welcome.

 

Personally, it has been an honor serving all of you for the past two years as Director of KSPS. On behalf of KSPS, I wish you all a happy and healthy new year.
